1. What do you do at The Republic?
I’m the Ahwatukee content editor. I supervise three reporters and several freelance writers. I assign and edit stories and photos for The Ahwatukee Republic community news section and ahwatukee.azcentral.com online. 

2. What kinds of stories are you looking for?
News and features about people, trends and businesses that are Ahwatukee-specific. East of I-10 is too far away!

3. What’s the best way to approach you with a pitch?
Please send an e-mail that clearly states in the subject line what the story is about.

4. What recommendations do you have for PR professionals?
One thing to keep an eye on is The Arizona Republic’s News By You initiative. We have links on our community news Web pages encouraging readers to tell us stories in their own words. 5. What’s the strangest/weirdest pitch you’ve ever received?
This happened more than 15 years ago when I covered mental health for the Republic. A PR representative was sorry one story she suggested did not pan out. So she found me someone else to write about: A patient with more than 20 multiple personalities! The story turned out great and won a couple awards.
