Join #journchat live in Phoenix
If you are in PR and on Twitter, you may have heard of or participated in “#journchat”. Its a great way to discuss and learn from others in PR and the media across the country.
Sarah Evans (@prsarahevans), founder of #journchat has planned the first-ever #journchat live, where cities around the U.S. will be hosting live events at the same time. ZooLoo.com will be hosting the Phoenix event, on Monday, Aug. 17 from 5:00 to 7:00 at the Virgina C. Piper Conference Center at the Disability Empowerment Center (5025 E. Washington Ave, Phoenix).
If you’d like to participate, go here to sign up. It is FREE. There are only 60 spots available. You must arrive 30 minutes early, around 4:30.
Zooloo set up a panel to help facilitate group discussion between all participants. The panel includes:
Joe Cockrell, ISBITN (@joeprguy)
Chad Graham, Arizona Republic (@AZJobTawk)
Alison Bailin, HMA PR (@abailin)
Melissa Hurst, Blogger for Saving Cents with Sense (@savingsense)
Adam Kress, Phoenix Business Journal (@KressOnBusiness)
The #journchat LIVE Phoenix will be moderated by Aaron Baer at ZooLoo.com (@aaronmbaer).
This is how it works according to Melissa Rzeppa, Zooloo Marketing/PR Director:
Join #journchat live in Phoenix“The Arizona live #journchat will be held on the same day as every other live #journchat around the country.
There will be one moderator (@aaronmbaer) asking the questions led by Sarah Evans, the organizer and (she’s out of Chicago). She’ll lead the main discussions, and then we’ll all be participating as a group from Phoenix. The AZ moderator will follow the typical #journchat format, asking questions from Sarah Evans and others in the online community, and we all discuss the questions live. We’re hoping to get some great discussions going between the panelists and attendees. We will be tweeting from the #journchat Phoenix account, to share out discussion with the other participants around the world.
All attendees are welcome to bring their own laptops (there will be wireless internet) to participate online and in live discussion. We will capture some of the event on video and via photos, to share on Twitter throughout the event.
The mission of #journchat has always been to improve the relationships between public relations professionals, journalists and bloggers. Together we’ve created a safe environment to explore each industry and ultimately how social media is influencing all of us.The goal of #journchat LIVE is to have simultaneous live events occurring at the same time around the United States (and elsewhere if time zones permit). We’ve spent more than seven months sharing our thoughts and opinions online. While this format may not change, it was suggested that we incorporate a face-to-face event.”

This is going to be a great event. It’s ultimately about finding new ways to build relationships between PRs, journalists and bloggers.

Sort of imagine if the President were to sit down and have a beer with a PR Person and a journalist and a blogger.
