From her head down to her toenails…
The gym in Rhode Island where I’m temporarily working out plays 80s and 90s “oldies” while I toil on the treadmill. Certain songs ALWAYS remind me of where I was in my PR career at the time. Does that happen to you?
Super Freak – 1981- no clue what I was going to do with a bachelor’s degree in English.
Rock the Casbah – good times at Boston University’s graduate school of communications, “getting down” in the grad dorm on Bay State Road.
Purple Rain – first official PR job at Data General in Westboro, Mass.
Lady in Red – Computervision – always heard this on the commute home to Waltham.
Need You Tonight (INXS) - Honeywell – the big party music when we all met up at clubs.
Mission Impossible – Viasoft – the company’s 1996 sales and marketing conference theme.
After the late 90s, I don’t have as strong associations – not sure why. Super freaky.

It’s not a song, but every time I hear anything about the TV show “Survivor” it reminds me of going through the massive downturn in Silicon Valley because a standard daily phrase at that time was “Who got voted off the island today?” The show hit way too close to home for many people.

I have this horrible feeling that I must have looked like Elaine on “Seinfeld” when I danced….
