Worse than not helping promote tourism they also hurting professional recruitment and attracting the type of talent that we need.

Most spring training fans and Grand Canyon gawkers rarely think of politics, when making their vacation plans. And if they do, the draw of the attractions usually outweighs the negative perception.

On the other hand, a bio-science engineer,or software designer does pay a lot of attention to the political and culture climates of potential cities when deciding to relocate

Be thankful they are talking about us at all. We don't need a PR campaign. We need to start producing something more interesting than concealed weapon permits, crime sweeps and dissing the president. Until then, be grateful our state gets talked about. No such thing as bad press.

Spend less time worrying about what others are saying about us and spend more time making Arizona awesome.

These issues certainly don't help us promote tourism to Arizona. It's all the more reason why we need our own residents to show pride in their community and serve as the best spokespeople for our state and cities wherever we travel.

All you have to do is watch the Simpsons to see how much we are made fun of - heard us blasted on their show at least a dozen times over the years on everything from MLK Day to ASU.

And, for any Dan Patrick radio fans, one of the co-hosts is from AZ and used to work at Downside Risk - made fun of AZ residents for carrying guns in there all teh time in the 90s.
