Weddings 2.0
If you’re thinking of getting hitched, take a page out of Robert Hylton’s book. A former Phoenix marketing manager, he and his fiancee Sonya Zilka aren’t holding the traditional wedding-in-a-church event to celebrate their nuptials.
“We are lucky to have friends spread around the world and we love to travel, so we are bringing the party to you,” reads their “Hitched 2010 World Tour” announcement. “For more details, please visit www.thespokanites.com” (their official “wed” site).
They’ll be holding a small private affair in Sri Lanka, where they first met, and 8 additional parties around the world, where their friends reside.
While he was in Phoenix, Robert worked as marketing director for Sequencia, a manufacturing software firm that was later acquired by Rockwell. After leaving Arizona to join up with Microsoft, he moved to Hong Kong and met his future bride in Sri Lanka while participating in Room to Read, a nonprofit that builds schools and libraries in developing countries.

This band keeps getting better and better! They have been destined for greatness ever since Robert was edged out for the lead role by “Marky Mark” in Rock Star and Sonya was ejected from The White Stripes by a jealous Meg.
