Vancouver’s pay-by-phone parking

By Dan Wool on July 30th, 2007 In Social Media

vancouver_1.jpgWhile many organizations are trying to “give customers more control,” I came across this simple, pragmatic example of this here in Vancouver –allowing drivers to use a mobile phone to pay for parking.

The city has a phone number posted on parking meters. You call up 604.909.7275 and enter your parking space number, then the number of minutes you want to park, plus a Visa or Mastercard number. The service then sends you a text message when your minutes are expiring!
