Using social media just because we can?
I came across an interesting review of Groundswell, the book by Forrester analysts Charlene Li and Josh Bernoff.
The reviewer at Amazon.com basically says that engaging in social media just because everyone else is tweeting, blogging and Facebooking is a bad reason for going in. This is at odds with a lot of what others say, that it’s important to do some toe-dipping, since very soon everyone will be diving into the pool.
What do you think?
If you are interested, there’s an excerpt of the book in Fast Company.

The reason I asked, is I was about to interview Josh Bernoff, co-author of Groundswell. He’s the first to advocate that starting to use social media and then trying to figure out where to apply it is a huge mistake. You could ‘create screwups of enormous proportions,’ he said.
