Furthermore…Strumpette Minus Amanda
My favorite PR blog (aside from Valley PR Blog of course) has re-launched today without its frontwoman and main voice, Amanda Chapel.
Strumpette is now Furthermore. Brian Connolly, president of Furthermore, Inc. has posted a cryptic note about the change, remarking:
“…some of our most ardent and influential supporters have been reluctant to embrace the strident strumpet publicly. ‘Furthermore’ is brand neutral and at the same time forces people to focus on the issues exclusively.”
Not sure what kind of sideways knock this is because I really don’t understand what he means. Regardless, I shall give Furthermore a fair shake…but will wait with baited breath for the next move in the career of Amanda Chapel. She has brand equity, great style, and a sharp wit. Amanda Chapel is dead…long live Amanda Chapel.
Of course, Amanda Chapel might not actually exist. Or if she does, Amanda Chapel might be a pseudonym and/or avatar. I think it would be classic to find out someday that Amanda is actually five nerdy guys pretending to be a hot, intelligent woman.
Strange thing though…since I’m pretty sure Amanda and I are connected as friends on MyRagan. What is reality anyway!

This is the PR-world equivalent of Maxim magazine changing into The Economist.
