A new PR blog that ‘gets it’

By Dan Wool on July 16th, 2008 In Social Media

I was recently delighted to find a new PR blog with a distinctive voice: Cut Me Some Flack. Even more delightful was that the blog was linking to us. “Now who’s doing that,” I wondered.

It was Armstrong-Troyky’s Robyn Itule (a former guest blogger here), who recently started “Cut” with a couple of college girlfriends from her days at Gonzaga (Shannon Danitz and Nicole Williams). The three offer their thoughts on industry developments, pop culture and the life of a young PR professional from where they sit in Phoenix, Denver and Seattle.

Blogging is hard. Perhaps the greatest challenge is finding things to say and then, posting on a regular basis. Cut Me Some Flack has a relevance and effortlessness about it that’s refreshing. Robyn and her colleagues clearly work hard at their jobs and take nothing in their careers for granted. They crave and share good mentoring. They read and comment about the trades. And, they offer insight from their own trials in the biz — war stories and cautionary tales for their peers and some understanding — and hope — for the rest.

Simply put, they “get it” — and for me, have been a joy to read.

Dan, thanks for the props. The bar is set high with VPRB, so it really is an honor.

And how sweet is my brother in law for posting a comment!

:)
