PRSA “Master Practitioners” taste wine, compare 2010 resolutions

Valley HoIf you’re a member of PRSA Phoenix with more than 15 years of experience, you ought to consider meeting up with the so-called ‘master practitioners’ group, which gets together monthly at different locations around the Valley.

Tonight, seven of the eight of us tasted wine at Valley Ho, which was featuring several South Australian wines in its ballroom.   It was a nice end to the day, and I was amazed at the different resolutions we all made for 2010.  Some even had multiple resolutions. Here’s a sampling:

  • to be healthier through yoga
  • to avoid drinking for 30 days
  • make more phone calls, instead of relying on email/social media all the time
  • to focus on family
  • not to let arguments escalate with a teenage son
  • to focus on what makes [her] happy in her heart
  • more local networking
  • no eating in the car
  • more split-second, gut decisions – “blinking” a la Malcolm Gladwell
  • to figure out the next job for the decade

It was a nice “seasoned” coda to the day, which began with a media breakfast full of 20 and 30 somethings at the beginning and early middle of their careers.   To get on the distribution list for future Master Practitioner events, contact Paula Pedene, paula.pedene@va.gov
