Wordpress can be an ideal solution for a blog or an entire website (see www.opendoorcommunications.com, www.joeprguy.com, or www.wiredprgroup.com). PR pros need to update their sites constantly with information on clients, press releases, photos, classes, etc. and Wordpress will allow you to do so without knowing anything about HTML.
What’s the point of a website if you can’t update it, when the name of the game today is constantly providing fresh content to users? The beauty of WordPress is that it allows you to quickly mount a functional, professional website that you’ll be able to easily maintain and control yourself.
Wordpress goddess Amanda Blum is teaching a hands on Wordpress workshop on Sunday, April 26 from 9-4 in Chandler. Attendees will learn the difference between posts and pages, what a plugin is and how to get them, how to install and change themes, and how to moderate blogs. You’ll start from scratch and mount a Wordpress website of your own by the end of the day for you to experiment with. Attendees may follow along, but a laptop is recommended so you can actively participate.
The cost is $75 and you can register at www.areyousociallyacceptable.com.
