The best networking tool on the net
When Linkedin first launched a few years ago it made very little impact on the world. Most people saw it as a sort of online resume, connected with their friends, then forgot about it. But oh how the times have changed. Today Linkedin is arguably the most powerful networking tool in the world. If you’re not on Linkedin, you’re just not connected.
But just being on Linkedin and not “working” it is like going to the mall without your wallet — It’s fun to look around but you’re going home emptyhanded. People are always asking me how to network and grow their business or find a new job and I always say start with Linkedin. Then they typically ask me how.
Valley PR Blog reader Pat Elliott forwarded me a great blog post that pools together a bunch of great resources on using Linkedin…so grab a cup of coffee, sit back and learn why Linkedin is indeed the best networking tool on the net.

Thanks, Len! I was one of the first people to join LinkedIn when it launched in 2003 and now provide workshops on how to make the most of it. Attendees are usually surprised by how much you can do.One or two always admit some kind of fear of the online world kept them from exploring LinkedIn’s potential. In recent months, with the recession causing many people to want to reconnect with people from their past lives, it’s been gratifying to help people find long lost co-workers, college friends, etc. We truly are all just a few degrees of separation away from each other.

Thanks for the useful link. LinkedIn is basically like real life. Some people on it are just trying to impress with how many people they “know”. The trick is to find the people who can really help you (and then pay it forward). They’re on there.
