Do you know the Code?
Have you ever “ratted out” another colleague for unethical behavior? The San Diego PRSA Chapter’s ethics officer wrote a thought-provoking blog on ethics and PR. She addresses the importance of individual accountability, especially since the PRSA Code of Ethics is a model of professional behavior rather than one that enforces compliance through policing behavior.
Need a Code of Ethics refresher? Pick up a pocket-sized version at the June 23 PRSA luncheon about Advocacy PR at the University Club of Phoenix, 39 E. Monte Vista Road, Phoenix. (Thank you, fellow Phoenix PRSA Board member, Julie Kurth for this blog info.)

Thank you for stressing the importance of ethics in the PR industry — something that is all too often lacking, as cutthroat deals often get made in order to manage information.

Wouldn’t it be nice if all the executives we’ve had to work for and with also subscribed to a personal sense of responsibility and ethics?
