APS parent moves annual report online

By Angelo Fernando on April 23rd, 2008 In Best Practices

Call it the ‘green issue’ that APS published. It was not in its press release, but with Earth Day, APS parent Pinnacle West is among the first in a growing movement away from the traditional annual report to online. What was previously a 90+ page paper annual has shrunk to a 24 page eco-friendly folio with links to a themed micro-site called Why We Build It.

The timing is perfect. Not only is corporate America re-examining the practice but conferences like these have stopped killing trees by not giving out fat binders with redundant handouts. People are beginning to clamor for not receiving printed phone books.

In addition to using less paper, the online video and interactivity help to better underscore the company’s sustainability efforts and engage people about the state’s energy future.

The annual report and site were co-developed with Phoenix-based Campbell-Fisher Design.
