Templar leaving Tribune for Goldwater Institute
Le Templar will leave the East Valley Tribune in late January to take the position of communications director for The Goldwater Institute in Phoenix. Templar has been a print journalist for almost 20 years, working for the past decade at the Tribune as a reporter and opinion writer. He became opinion pages editor in January 2009. At the Goldwater Institute, Templar will oversee interaction with public audiences through social networks and traditional media outlets. The Goldwater Institute is a private, nonprofit, public policy organization that conducts research and advocacy on behalf of limited government and economic freedom. Templar lives in Phoenix and also is an adjunct instructor at Paradise Valley Community College. His journalism work and volunteer leadership have been recognized by the Arizona Press Club, Associated Press Managing Editors-Arizona, and the Society of Professional Journalists.
