Condolences to FOX 10

phil walshJust opened up my daily “Shop Talk” TV Spy email and saw this sad news. Our condolences to the family and friends of Phil Walsh and staff at FOX 10.

A colleague of ours at FOX 10 died Tuesday night.

Phil Walsh was one of the most experienced TV news photographers in the country. He had worked in Phoenix for over 40 years - all of that time right here at KSAZ-TV FOX 10.

He was unbeatable when it came to covering breaking news in the valley and was among the first on the scene the day Republic reporter Don Bolles was killed.

Phil loved his wife Linda and the two of them loved to travel. In fact, even as he was fighting his cancer, they took a cruise to Mexico just a few months ago.

He was a New Englander, to start life, born in Cambridge, Massachusetts. But he proudly became an Arizonan, going to school at the University of Arizona. Then becoming so devoted to his profession, he made all of us a little better, just getting to work with him.

Phil Walsh was 64 years old.
