First the Tribune, now this. I could rave on and on about many of the folks on The Dreaded List and how hard-working, thoughtful, good-hearted, ethical, motivated and inspiring they are. This makes no sense to me. With all the dead wood floating around over there, you think they could have chosen some less integral staffers to ditch. I think some (much?) of it must have been political. The good news in all this: Perhaps it will open the door for reputable but alternative news sites like the Zonie Report to take over from traditional media. Phoenix Mag has been doing great stuff lately, too, as Adam pointed out. It seems incomprehensible that the public would just sit back and let solid news disappear in favor of TV sound bites, radio talk show blowhards and knee-jerk partisan bloggers. Right? Please tell me I'm right. I am devastated over this. First the Tribune, now this.
