Southwest Graphics reinvents itself as Process Magazine

By on June 18th, 2009 In Media

process coverSouthwest Graphics Magazine has been a stalwart in the printing industry for years, but when subscribers check their mailboxes beginning this week they’ll be greeted with an all new magazine — Process Magazine.

Along with the new name the magazine has a beautiful new look thanks to the folks at Switch Studio. But most importantly, the magazine has broadened its focus to all things creative and covers key people, news, business and technology topics of interest to buyers and users of advertising, design, printing, interactive, public relations and photography services. The magazine is also looking to cover all the major professional associations in the region so if you’re involved with IABC, PRSA, AIGA, Ad2Phoenix, Creative Connect or any other similar group make sure to add Process to your news distribution list at editor@processmag.com.

Process also has a new editor in Valley magazine veteran Michelle Jacoby. The inaugural issue of Process has a wide variety of stories including a feature on Gangplank, a preview of the upcoming Phoenix Design Week and a Q&A with Angela Hill, president of San Diego-based design firm Incitrio.

The magazine covers the entire southwest and is published by Tempe-based Runbeck Graphics. If you’re a qualified company or independent practitioner in the areas of printing, design, public relations, etc and would like a free subscription send a note to dana@processmag.com.

Go Kevin Runbeck. He has been doing this for years, and I am happy to see the change. Also the story on Gangplank, which I consider one of the best modern homes for creatives. And yes, Ed and I hang out there.

I was really impressed with the transformation Switch Studio did in taking the magazine from Southwest Graphics to Process. You should grab a screen shot and post the cover of the old magazine just so readers can see just how phenomenal the new design is compared to the old one.

From one design snob to another, gotta say this is a fantastic design and we need to get the word out to the other AIGA chapters because the content is fantastic, too. Great writing, Michelle!
