Matt McAllister Joins 102.5 KNIX as Morning Show Co-Host
Clear Channel Radio/Phoenix Vice-President and Market Manager Joe Puglise announced today that Matt McAllister will join Ben Campbell as co-host of the new 102.5 KNIX-FM morning show.
Puglise said, “It was critically important we pair Ben with someone as talented and bright as Matt. Matt brings a different but complimentary skill set to the job, and the moment he hopped back on a plane after his interview we all looked at each other and said: ‘That’s the one.’ We’re thrilled to bring him and his family out to Phoenix.”
Matt hosted “The Early Show” at the legendary KTYD/Santa Barbara, CA for the past nine years, where he has garnered top ratings in every measurable adult, men and women metric.
McAllister stated, “Since the holidays are fresh in everyone’s mind, I’ll use a timely seasonal analogy to express my excitement about this wonderful opportunity. It tastes like someone brined it perfectly, then cooked it breast down to keep the juices in. I see Ben and I functioning much like a good baste…we’re going to add some flavor and make an already great tasting bird even better.”
The duo will debut on the Valley’s leading country station in early January, 2008.

So maybe now we can get some music on in the morning instead of Matt’s constant incessant yakking.

How lucky we have been in this area to have Matt entertain us as well as inspire us to support local causes, restaurants, artists, events, the everday people that make our community special. We will miss Matt and his wonderful family Barbara, Lily and Emma. Watch out Pheonix!

I am sad to hear Matt is leaving. I worked with him at KTYD when I was in advertising sales. He is not only a very talent DJ but probably one of the nicest and down-to-earth people I know. Good Luck and I don’t think we will ever have as great a show on KTYD.

Lucky, lucky, lucky is all I can say. Santa Barbara is going to miss him, no doubt. He is funny, witty, and original, he will do great things for the city of Phoenix.

For nine years Matt entertained damn near everyone from kids to the elderly here in SB. Matt is a class act and gave his all to the community. He emceed more than 20 charities every year which helped the community beyond measure. He’s not only is funny but he taught us a lot. Phoenix will soon realize how special he is on air and off.

My husband works from home and he is so upset that Matt is leaving KTYD - he is afraid it won’t be the same with whoever they get to replace him. Phoenix is so lucky to have him - our loss is their gain. Good luck, Matt! P.S. My husband thought Matt was a surfer! What’s up with that??!!! ~Cathy

Matt: Debbie Garven from SB - God we miss you!! The weirdest thing every day is to see and hear you (and Barb) on the radio or TV talking about Dr Paveloff. Dayum, that is just plain spooky and whoever did that commercial is having a ball w/ the locals. Did I miss it before or something - Tv spot for sure!
On another note - I hope you and the fam & the new station are doing well. It’s just not the same without you. Recently Julie took a vacation and Joe sat in for her with Seed. It was good somehow as his voice (which I hear at other times) was somehow like yours - comforting, funny, informative and…..hhmmm…
WE miss you! If you get back this way sometime maybe they can do a guest spot and shock the hell out of the listeners of SB.
Have a wonderful evening, dear friend.
Debbie Garven
