Hal Mattern not quite going into PR after Republic

I was curious to learn more about Hal’s move from the Republic and he set me straight on what he will be doing..its not quite PR, but close enough.

“I am going to be director of communications for the W.P. Carey School of Business at ASU. I mainly will be editor of a new magazine the school launches in the fall, and also will do some other writing and editing. I won’t be doing PR, as such, except to back up the two communications people at the school. My last day is Wednesday. For the next month, the Business staff will take turns doing the Buzz.”

For now, he suggests any Buzz pitches should be sent to robin.phillips@arizonarepublic.com. She is the editor who oversees it.

I will miss Hal at the Republic. He was great to work with!
