GMAZ loses Brad and Dan

After seeing the commotion on the Facebook page of Dan Davis (Dan’s Segment) of the Good Morning Arizona crew on KTVK Channel 3, it was confirmed in a status update this morning by Dan that he is no longer with the station.
Another source confirms Brad Perry is out. No release or information has been disclosed from station officials. According to Phoenix Business Journal, KTVK’s parent company, BELO is cutting back.
Its sad to see, though after working in TV, it happens. I am sure the guys will land on their feet soon. Brad was just sharing info about his music career when I was helping out with liveshots a couple weeks ago.

Land on their feet? Let’s see, Albuquerque Journal, Rocky Mountain News, 200 from Tribune and Republic. Dave Pratt, Kid & Ruben, Bruce Kelly. Where are all these unemployed media going to “land on their feet?’ There’s only so many jobs at McDonald’s.
Employers aren’t hiring experienced media people. Check this blog or the jobs on Ad2 Phoenix. It is all “fresh” practitioners, not the 600 out of work media pros in the Four Corners region. Good luck and good night.

Expect Brad to pursue his music in addition to staying visible in the Phoenix market. He’s launching his first music single “Life Is Good” — fantastic message — tomorrow night at Martini Ranch in Scottsdale at 7pm. The first 200 people get a free drink. Go support Brad in his new endeavors!

I hope another station picks them up. I’ll switch to that station. Seriously, no doubt.

Guess there are no safe jobs right now, glad I’m self employed. I really enjoyed Brad, got a bit obnoxious at times, but was fun to watch.

No disrespect to Brad, but his shtick kind of ran its course and he probably stayed around longer than even he expected. Besides, his heart isn’t into it anymore as he’s chasing the music dream. I wish him well.

It’s about time these guys take a bite of humble pie! By the way… I hear they are bringing Hafner back??? He’s going to drive around with a dash cam and report for the morning show. Yes… I said DRIVE not FLY. Kind of an insult for Bruce.

Wow, I’m saddened. I thoroughly enjoyed them both and wish them well.
