Citizen Editor: stop the presses, er, I mean keep ‘em running
Tucson Citizen interim Editor Jennifer Boice told Citizen employees late yesterday that the newspaper would not shut down in three days as previously announced while the paper negotiates with two potential buyers.
At the meeting of staffers the executive team said there were still two buyers out there but would not name names. In the most apropos quote of the year, Citizen photo editor remarked: “That’s Bullshit, ” as he snapped photos of shocked staffers.
The paper is listed as “day-to-day.” As David Letterman once famously said: “Aren’t we all?”

I wonder if the only paper left in the world in a year will be USA Today – one conglomerate reporting on the U.S. news, with no localized papers….
