Get career advice from someone who knows

By on December 16th, 2008 In Jobs

lifeboatPeople are always asking me if I know of any recruiters that specialize in communications jobs and as it turns out I do know a few. When I was at Delta Air Lines we had a relationship with Tony Reynes of Tesar-Reynes, the largest integrated marketing and communications management search firm in the United States. I didn’t stay at Delta very long, but I have stayed in touch with Tony via their e-mail newsletter and now Linkedin.

I got word this week via Linkedin that Tesar-Reynes has launched a blog focused on career advice and recruiting of course. I took a quick look around and it’s full of solid information, even if you’re not looking for a job. For example, there’s some great advice for the unemployed in a recent post entitled “Five Tips to Survive Unemployment: The Lifeboat Metephor.” Number five is great — everyone gets seasick so don’t be prideful and ask for help.

If you know of a good communications recruitment firm send us a link and we’ll add them to our growing list of resources.

The best local support resource for mid- to senior- to C-level pros,in communications and other fields, is the non-profit Scottsdale Job Network. It’s NOT a job placement source, but does provide resources for networking and skills training. Employers can list jobs FREE through our private online community and reach 1,200+ people.
