Would you customize your pitch to these guys?
What if you or your organization had to send letters to President Bush, Henry Paulson an Nancy Pelosi. Would you send them the same form letter, only changing the salutation?
We all get pitched by the robo-PR types and promptly assign them to the spam filter, raising cain now and then. So someone should have sent the American Trucking Association and GM the memo that you get more attention if you get personal.
Take a look at these three letters. Here, here and here. How complicated could it have been to address each mover and shaker with customized communication? When you’re asking for a $25 billion bailout, you should be able to afford a decent agency scribe!
