No coffee, but lots of PR
So, did you hear that all the Starbucks will close their doors for a few hours this evening to train their Baristas?
Holy crap, what will Britney do?
All kidding aside…this is a genius PR event. While the Seattle-based company won’t change their pricing on a $4 latte even in this down economy, they are showing us that they want to continue to provide quality customer service and a great experience everytime you walk through their doors.
The competitors, such as Dunkin Donuts will take advantage of these closed hours and offer customers a 99 cent cup…but I highly doubt it will make a difference in the long run. Starbucks has created such a brand and following that some folks will still hand over their hard-earned dollars to get their caffiene fix.

Speaking of great publicity, it is like the whole world knew Starbucks was closing its doors. Clever! Was Britney behind it after all. Did they close so she could avoid the paps at any Starbucks she wanted?
It probably didn’t cost them much to close after 7 p.m.. Really, who - besides Britney, is getting caffinated that late?
