I've met Charlotte - she has a sweet personality and an honest (midwest?) disposition. It's key to good interviews and good coverage for all clients.

Be enthusisatic about what you do, be believable and in the spirit of Web 2.0, be transparent and good things happen. :-)

I truly believe you must be a shameless promoter if you have a business. I don't use that term to mean you make people crazy by talking about yourself, I just mean that you need to share things about yourself and your business and how you can help others because the ultimate PR person for any business is the BUSINESS OWNER! As my clients know, I am always asking for stories that go beyond their basic services and business. Showing your personal side and experiences can open you up to a whole new audience at times. It makes you human and not just a biz owner trying to make a buck. And when you want to stay out there, I feel you must be a shameless promoter at times. (Not Attention Whore as Len kiddingly wrote ;)

Charlotte seems to get it. By sharing some of her personal challenges she engages readers. I loved when she wrote about being consumeed with wedding plans and how she realized many of the boutiques in this niche needed to learn a few lessons about word of mouth marketing. I even wrote about it as an example on a blog post I wrote yesterday. Thanks Charlotte...for being real!
