The problem with doing a reality show on PR, is that if you showcase people who have any PR experience - they make for boring TV.

PR people understand the power of the camera enough to fear projecting a negative image of themselves in front of it. So they behave.

This is why Lizzie Grubman's show flopped. She tried to get around the problem by starring interns. Even they were savvy enough to act like total fools while the camera's rolled - spoiling the fun associated with typical 'reality TV' shows.

The grand daddy of modern reality TV - The Real World - understands the importance of showcasing people who are not smart enough to realize they are humiliating themselves on national TV. The personalities that make up the show formula are selected precisely because they will clash, argue, hook up, get drunk, ect.

It's hard to get that kind of behavior out of people who are paid to worry about the image that their clients project.

Isn't @JoePRGuy working on a Phoenix-based reality show focusing on folks in our profession? I would love to hear from him on here how his show will dig deeper and how it will reflect the industry in contrast to this program...

Other than "I Dream of Jeannie" which clearly depicted the real world of astronauts, I doubt there's anything anyone can do to stand up to the world of TV and persuade anyone to show the nitty gritty profession of PR.

About the only show that comes to mind that doesn't completely bollux things up is "Mad Men" -- and that's depicting world 50 years gone by.

I hope they are able to somehow capture the gripping excitement of making follow up calls about a new flavored mayonnaise to leading industry publications like Progressive Grocer!
