Is your client the BEST?

I was excited to read in the Arizona Republic today that the BEST Reader’s Choice 2009 Contest is back! Last year, two of my clients clinched a BEST honor in their category and a few other clients were nominated or got Critic’s Choice. One of the reasons why I like this BEST contest is that azcentral.com makes it easy for your client to promote the contest through downloadable table tents, logos, business cards and flyers. Its easy, free and creates buzz among customers and staff. Check it out and may the BEST win!

it is also ohsoeasy for this contest to be fixed, and the users tear these places apart in the comments because its so obvious in most cases this is what happened. For instance, no one takes the restauarant picks seriously… so I wonder if this is a case of good PR or not?
Charlotte have you seen good ROI on the contest for clients?

I believe they’ve been working to get cheating fixed on there in past years. Also, I rarely care what commenters say…they love to rip on anyone and anything they read on the sites.
Plus, the contest is more of a way to create buzz among your customers and ask them to help quantify why they like the biz. I asked one of my clients how they felt about the contest after winning two years in a row and he said “I think it’s all good … always hard to quantify, but it provides a great deal of pride for the staff and it definitely helps with marketing and P.R”.
