First “Be All Out” coming up on Friday June 18th

Arizona’s Tyler Hurst is organizing the first “Be All Out” event – a somewhat different format from the popular public slideshow presentations you’ve heard about, such as Ignite Phoenix. Be All Out will be held at Gangplank (325 Elliott Road, Chandler, AZ) on Tuesday evening, June 18, and will feature nine presenters each taking five minutes to share what they’re passionate about.

According to Tyler, a topic needs to be “entertaining, relevant and worthy.  It doesn’t have to be about teaching. It doesn’t have to be about community. It doesn’t have to be family safe.”

Why this, why now? What’s different about this from Ignite Phoenix? ”I wanted a more intimate gathering that would enable people to take risks. I wanted this event to be free of content restrictions, and more about the presenters than the audience. They, not the audience or the organizers, are what make these events shine. And not all passions are rated PG-13 or suitable for all ages.”

“Ignite Phoenix doesn’t work for me because it’s become the cool place to be, rather than a chance for people to shock, wow or impress an engaged audience.”

Under the Be All Out format, there will be 9 total presentations, with unlimited slides, but limited in time to just five minutes.   You can have more than one presenter, but no props allowed.

Entries will be capped at 18 – first come, first serve.  From this, the presenters will be chosen.  Ony the entrants may vote and also see the detailed results.  Only one submission per entrant, and entrants may not vote for their own presentation.  Points will be given according to entertainment value, relevance and worthiness.  The presentations will be filmed, although a presenter may veto publishing them.   Only 50 tickets will be available – for more information and an online entry form, click here.

I share Tylers perspective on Ignite. I like the idea of “Be All Out.” We’ll see how it goes.

At the very least, it will be a fun Friday night.
