‘Bizarre’ response
To Erin, Malcolm, Dave and others.
It would be inappropriate to plug the Bizarre Bazaar on Valley PR Blog. We are of course supportive of this cool cancer fundraiser and we may even there on December 10, but we cover PR, marketing, and social media and not clients. Thanks for thinking of us and sorry we can’t be of more help.

Dan, I completely understand. This is a professional blog and needs to keep that appeal for your readership. I appreciate you taking the time to respond. We will continue to search for alternative ways of promoting this event. We just thought it would be worth a try; all you could do was say no. And you did. Somehow, we’ll find a way to spread the word.

I think you made the right decision in not plugging Bizarre Bazaar. Keep cancer off the blogs and leave it where it belongs — in colons and ovaries.

I guess, then, it would also be inappropriate to mention the event lasts from 7 pm to 9 pm, is being held at a private residence in Paradise Valley and has a paltry $5 entry fee?

“Dr. Shaler, you’re wanted in Coronary Care unit right away.”
December 4th, 2008 at 1:04 pm
Is this a meta method for promoting it anyway? Perhaps that was the
intended unintentional coverage in the first place?

Shaler, I do hope that no one near and dear to you is ever stricken with cancer in any of it’s wicked forms, be it colon or ovararian. If you’ve ever watched someone suffer and die from cancer, maybe you would not be so flippant with your remarks.

Oh, no! No, no, no, no, no! Coverage would include things like the link to the map to get to Bizarre Bazaar. And sponsors, and who and…well, more than what, when, where. But you all know that! So this would, technically speaking, not be coverage. Of course, I suppose at this point, someone could answer questions, since it isn’t, technically speaking, coverage.

LOVE it!

Dan,
Thank you. You’re right… it’s inappropriate to promote events on Valley PR Blog. Especially events like Bizarre Bazaar on December 10th where information can be found at http://twitter.com/bizarrebazaar. It’s too bad it can’t be mentioned here… days before the event where local artists will be peddling their stuff at a killer Paradise Valley home. I’m just sayin’…

“Uh oh, Dan,” says health care PR lady with a big fundraiser coming up for her very own hospital in the next week. How can you promote Bizarre Bazaar and not Candlelight Capers? Shame on you!
