AZ Dems launch CrAZy Space WOM site

Arizona Democratic Party has launched crAZyspace, a word-of-mouth marketing site centered around the Arizona GOP’s controversial, often forehead smacking political figures and ideas.

The launch email from Party spokeswoman Emily Bittner states:

“From Karen Johnson’s Guns in Schools to John McCain’s 100 years in Iraq, visit crAZyspace often to stay up to date with the folks who put the AZ in crAZy.

crAZyspace is counting on YOU to use your eyes, ears, and search engines to help us monitor the crAZies (there are buttons on each page to let us know when you hear something crAZy or even to suggest your own crAZy person). We’re also counting on you to click on the “Share this page” button to let all your friends and family know just how crAZy things can get here in AZ.”

With your help, there will be a little less crAZy in AZ in 2009!

The idea behind the site, says Democratic Party new media communications manager Jeff Goodman, “is to capitalize on the current interest in national politics to get information to make State politics more accessible. The conservative movement in AZ is more radical than most people are aware (look no further than guns in schools). The ultimate goal is to get more Democrats elected.”

So far, “the traffic has been great,” says Goodman. “Even more than looking at the traffic, we’ve been getting a significant amount of responses of people suggesting their own ‘crAZies,’ opting-in for updates, offering suggestions, and utilizing the other user response options.”
