Good data for freelancers and clients
For the 2nd year, Arizona firm Boomvang Creative has created two surveys to compile data on 1) creative freelancers (written, visual, print, electronic) and 2) their clients.
Both surveys aim to reveal motivations, pet peeves, expectations, and economic data. If you fall into any of the categories below, or hire these categories, this is valuable data:
- writer/copywriter/editor/proofreader
- graphic designer/artist/illustrator
- web designer/developer
- photographer
- public relations/corporate communications
- advertising/marketing
- video
- the ubiquitous “other”
The Freelancer Perspectives survey is here.
The Client Perspectives survey is here.
And if you want to see the inaugural 2009 survey, click here.
Surveys close Dec 31, 2009. Boomvang Creative will email the results to all respondents in January 2010, and will also post them at their website, www.boomvangcreative.com, and at http://jakepoinier.blogspot.com. Valley PR Blog will post them here, as well.
Wondering what a “boom vang” is? I did too. It’s a pulley system on a sailboat that enables you to sail more efficiently.

I did the survey, now what happens? Is this going to lead to possible assignments?

It’s not a brokering service, but rather a research process to gather and distribute stats to freelancers and clients alike.
