Oversharing on Twitter can backfire
Having been off the grid for a few weeks, I notice the topic about oversharing on Twitter –something I have been warning about — is front and center.
Like the Congressman who disclosed too many details of his trip to Baghdad, and the row that ensued, overuse of Twitter as a status update machine can get you into trouble. As in getting you fired.
So while this tool is great for journalists, PR and marketing, let’s not abuse it. It’s a short-form medium after all, whose value comes from less information, not more.

Um, oversharing in general can get you into trouble and it has nothing to do with Twitter. Pretty sure none of us will be taking top secret flights to the Middle East any time soon.
It’s sad people have to be remind when very new internet tech comes out.
